Qatar-OSCAR 100 – The first geostationary amateur radio satellite

What is QO-100?

Qatar-OSCAR 100 (QO-100) is the world’s first geostationary amateur radio satellite. Launched in 2018, it sits at 26° East and provides constant coverage without Doppler shift – 24 hours a day!

📶 What can you do with it?

  • Voice communication (SSB, CW) via the narrowband transponder

  • Digital TV (DATV) via the wideband transponder

  • Receive signals online via WebSDR, even without satellite gear

🛠️ How to receive or transmit?

  • Receive: With your own dish + SDR or via online WebSDR

  • Transmit: Requires a license + proper uplink/downlink equipment (2.4 GHz TX, 10 GHz RX)

In the DE3TMS SWL Portal, you can listen live to QO-100 WebSDR and learn all about satellite operation.
